How are you doing? Here are some action steps to help you in your walk with God:

A) Spend time “today” alone with God. Find a quiet, private place where you will not be interrupted.

B) Begin with prayerful devotion:

      1) Praise; Ps. 150, Waiting; Ps. 27:14, Confession; Luke 18:13

      2) Read the Word, Intercede, Petition

      3) Pray the Word, Thanksgiving, Singing

      4) Meditation, Listening, Praise (Change the World School of Prayer)

C) Walk in the light of God’s love.

Revelation 1:1-3:22

What do we learn from the first three chapters of Revelation?

1. The Lord Jesus Christ is completely knowledgeable of the condition of each church and individual within each church. (When was the last time you had a check-up?)
2. In some cases, churches (denominations) as well as individuals have left their first (primary) love. (They need to repent-return!)
3. Suffering is a part of the Christian life. (For most if not all Christians and churches.) We are to faithfully endure, serve, and overcome through the blood of the Lamb.
4. Some churches (denominations) as well as individuals compromise their doctrinal beliefs and teachings with what the world believes and teaches. We are called to be faithful witnesses to God’s truth as written in His Word, the Bible.

5. The mission of the church is to exalt the Lord Jesus Christ by leading lost people to Him and teaching them His Word, Way, Truth, and Life.  (Spiritual growth-discipleship) The church is not to become one with the world and its priorities.

6. Many churches have closed their doors or sit empty. The saddest condition is a church that is well attended and is dead! Spiritual life is found in the Lord Jesus Christ.

7. Churches that please God include several Biblical characteristics:

   1. The Lord Jesus Christ is loved and worshipped.

   2. The Word of God is loved, respected, honored, and proclaimed truthfully.

   3. The church is empowered by God the Holy Spirit:

      1. In its prayer life

      2. In every area of ministry: Understands and works to fulfill the Father’s mission to reach the lost and minister to the saved. (Engaged in ministry!) (Not a social club!)

8. Every church and individual Christian must guard against becoming lukewarm.  Success, growth, possessions,   etc., are blessings that can lead to pride and apathy! (Laodicea)

1. Any church, denomination, and individual Christian can be like Laodicea:      
   1. Materially wealthy but spiritually poor
   2. Beautiful in appearance but spiritually miserable and wretched
   3. Self-sufficient but spiritually poor, blind, and naked
2. We are to glorify our Lord Jesus Christ with zeal in our life and witness.
3. Our Lord Jesus knocks upon the door of our hearts.
4. Repentance leads to victory.
5. Will you let Him in?

4. We are given many wonderful promises: God’s presence, Eternal Citizenship in the New Jerusalem, the new Name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

2. We, the Church and as individual Christians are to uphold, teach, and proclaim correct Biblical doctrine.  2 Timothy 3:16-5, 2 Peter 1:16-2:22, John 4:1
3. We are and will be judged by God’s Truth, His Word, His Son, the Lord Jesus. Romans 14:10-13
4. We are to live according to God’s standard of morality. 1 Timothy 6:11-16, 2 Timothy 2:1-15
5. Our Lord Jesus Christ knows, strengthens, and rewards His servants! Revelation 2:17
