What do we learn from this passage?

1. Acceptance of the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior, means total surrender to Him, His Word, and His Will.
2. Acceptance of the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior “will” result in divisions within
3. Actions that demonstrate faith-acceptance of the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior will be rewarded.
4. Acceptance of the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior is the pathway that leads to eternal victory!

What do we learn from this passage?

• We are to preach the Word without fear and without compromise!
• We are to live each day with a heart filled with loving reverence for and in awe of our Heavenly Father, our Creator and Sovereign Lord.
• We are to acknowledge Whose and who we are! (Psalm 100:10-5)
• There are only two choices: Heaven or Hell. Which do you choose?

What do we learn from this passage?

• When you are mistreated for being a Christian, glorify God in your speech and
• When you are questioned for being a Christian, remember that God is with you (within); instead of worrying, be encouraged. God is your Defender.
• When you are threatened for being a Christian, do not be fearful!
• Live your life in the power of God the Holy Spirit, to the glory of the Lord Jesus Christ.

• God empowers, equips, and provides for His messengers. (Spiritual   Fruit and Gifts) Galatians 5:22-25, Ephesians 4:11-16.

• God determines the message and scope of the mission. (Authority) Mathew 10:5-8,28:18-20.

• God holds people accountable: Believers are forgiven, unbelievers experience judgment!  Romans 8:1, Matthew 10:15, Rev. 20:11-15.

• Like the twelve, God has chosen us! (Redemption) 1 Peter 2:1-10.
• God knows our heart and potential! (Spiritual Fruit and Gifts) Galatians 5:22-25, Ephesians 4:11-16.
• God lives within us, and He empowers us to fulfill His will. (Presence-Authority) 1 Corinthians 3:16, Mathew 28:18-20.
• To God be all glory! He has chosen to glorify Himself through His church as His church fulfills His will. (Purpose-Mission) Matthew 5:16.

• Our God is tender hearted, moved with compassion as He looks upon   humanity. (Loving, merciful grace) Psalm 103

• Multitudes of people are hurting, weary, scattered, searching for deliverance from a life of misery. (Lost)

• These multitudes of lost people are God’s field of harvest. (Mission)

• Laborers are still needed! (Willingness) “…Who will go for Us?” Isaiah 6:8

• We must begin with prayer! (Empowered by God the Holy Spirit)

• The Pharisees display a condemning attitude. Matthew 9:11                                

What do we learn from this passage?

• Like Matthew, we are called to follow Jesus. (Dedication)

• Like Matthew, we are to be comfortable with Jesus in our homes and among family and friends! (Witness)

• Unlike the Pharisees, we are to look upon all people with mercy while being mindful of our own sinfulness and God’s mercy in our lives! (Grace)

• Real men honor God and acknowledge Him as our loving, merciful, forgiving, heavenly Father. (Humility)

• Spiritual battle/warfare is real. (Condition-evil)
• Physical sickness is real. (Condition-disease)
• Sin is real. (Condition-rebellion=consequences)
• Our Lord Jesus Christ, is the only Hope for humanity! (All Authority)
• Unbelievers will die in sin unless they are brought to Jesus. (Evangelism-Missions=Salvation)

• Like the disciples, we are to bring our brokenness, confusion, fears, and pain to the Lord Jesus. (Prayer)

• We are to entrust our all (Past, Present, and Future) to the Lord Jesus. (Glory to God)
